What to do when an item arrives damaged
How to document damage properly so your claim is approved the first time.
Updated 1 min read
When a customer reports a broken item, the photos they take in the first few minutes decide how smoothly your claim goes. Send them this checklist:
- Photograph the unopened box on all sides, including any dents, tears, or crushed corners.
- Photograph the shipping label clearly.
- Photograph the inside of the box showing the packing material as it arrived.
- Photograph the damaged item from a few angles.
- Keep the box, packing, and item until the claim is closed.
Once you have the photos, file a damage claim. If the item can be repaired, include a repair estimate — the payout may cover the repair instead of the full value.
