Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and other prohibited items
Some products can't be shipped through Octoship at all. Here's the short list and why.

Federal law and carrier rules prohibit certain items from the mail or from standard carrier accounts. Octoship labels can't be used for these products, and shipping them can lead to seized packages and account closure.
| Item | USPS | UPS, FedEx & DHL Express (via Octoship) |
|---|---|---|
| Alcoholic beverages | Prohibited | Not available — requires a separate carrier agreement |
| Cigarettes and smokeless tobacco | Prohibited (narrow exceptions) | Not available |
| Vapes and e-cigarettes | Prohibited (narrow exceptions) | Not available |
| Firearms and ammunition | Heavily restricted | Not available |
| Cannabis and controlled substances | Prohibited | Not available |
Products that contain alcohol but aren't beverages — like perfume, hand sanitizer, or vanilla extract — are treated as hazardous materials rather than prohibited. See shipping hazardous materials.
